Aston Martin's new Rapide! What a beauty!

If perfection ever had to be personified, the Aston Martin Rapide would be it. I have no words to describe the extreme excitement and pain I experience when viewing this monster of a car. Excitement, because it wows me with it's looks and powerful purr, and pain, because I know I don't own one.

Yes, Aston Martin for some strange reason, have done it again. They have showcased the reason why they are the kings of luxury motor car's, and have reminded us mere mortals as to why we wake up every morning, go to work, and bust our butts. The Aston Martin Rapide is a brilliant reason if there ever was one.

From the home of chivalry, Burberry and Lady Diana, comes a car that embodies elegance, style and power. The Rapid has one of the sleekest designs ever none to man, yet subtle. The four door beauty is set to contend with my number one favourite car, the Maserati Quattroporte. As much as I have my loyalties to my dear Mas, it isn't impossible to be seduced. The Rapide has a six-speed touchtronic transmission, a monstrous 6.0 litre engine and shells out 350kw of serious power. It does 0-100km in 5.1 seconds, with a top speed of 297km/h.

You've probably forgotten that there's a price tag attached to this bewildering beauty, and of course you would just by looking at it. A hefty $199,950(R1,359.660) is what you're looking at in order to be thrilled and dazzled by this marvel of motor machine. Pricey? Yes. But isn't it just worth every penny!

Song of the month! Lupe Fiasco never seems to fail me!

Lupe Fiasco is undoutably one of the most amazing lyrisist I have ever heard, and now he collaborates with one of the best production crews out there, the Neptunes! If you weren't keen on listening to this amazing song, I hope that little tidbit convinced you otherwise.

"I'm beamin" is the lastest offering from Lupe Fiasco off his uncoming album, I mean he never gets it wrong for me. The precisition in terms of what he is about is always there, yet he can come across in a different manner each time. Lupe is not a boxed artist, he is not a conformist and this is what makes him great. The essence of his music remains the same and constant, whilst there is something always ever refreshing and new about it. Almost like a cool gentle breeze on a hot day.

I'm beamin in a mixture of a futuristic sound, that feels as if it were old school, yet it sounds very new. The base in the song is perfection, making it impossible for you to contain yourself whilst listening to the uber cool beat. And that's just what it is, uber cool. The sound is very technical, yet comes across in a very easy, chilled way. Lupe fiasco's music has always been very easy going and contemporary, whilst having the largest effect in every song. Whether it be the beat or the lyrics, there's always something very powerful about this very individualist artist.

I'm beaming is a hit, ope you enjoy it!

Dash Dolls indeed!!!!

I am a huge fan of the Kardashian ladies. Never before have I seen a team of sista's rock fashion, fabulousness and work this strong! They are true force that I feel young women and teens could learn a thing or 10 from. They have looks and killer bodies for a start, TV shows, clothing lines, stores, Kim has a perfume out and fabulous lives! Just when you thought you couldn't have it all, these three ladies proved us all wrong! So nowa days, I don't say I'm on my hustle, I say I'm on my Kardashian!lol. It's a new new for all my hard working sista's who are on their grinds, trying to make it big in this cut throat world. The K sisters did it, and you and I can do it too! Can I get an AMEN for the K sista's! (AMEN!)

Lupe Fiasco - He's back and never looses his touch! Song of the month!

This months Aluxisman song of the month is "I'm beamin" by Mr Lupe Fiasco! I love, love ,looooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvveeee Lupe Fiasco, and feel as though he could never do wrong in the music department. From "Food and liquor" to the "The cool", Lupe Fiasco has delivered above and beyond with his lyrical content. Songs like "The coolest", "Gold watch", "Paris,Tokyo", "Kick push" and "I gotcha" to name a few are out of this world.

My introduction to Lupe Fiasco was through Kanye West (The "touch the sky" video), who I'm not too insane about, but have immense respect for him as a lyricist and producer. I mean many, many songs of his are just pure genius, raw talent and show evidence that the man has one set of amazing ears. Lupe is so similar in the sense that the composition of his songs is perfection personified in my(bias) eyes. From the lyrics, to the sound of the beat, the video and the message that he tries to send through, have cohesion and sense surrounding his work. "I'm beamin" is just another example that shows this man's brilliance and coolness, because he is just the coolest n#gg@, what! The production of this song was done by my favourite producers, The Neptunes who always hit the mark when collabarating with Lupe Fiasco. The song is cool, calm and confident, one of tose songs you'd listen to before a job interiew, just to give you that swaager booost. I can't find anymore rational or any proper english words to discribe how brillint Lupe Fiasco really is. (Images are courtesy of google images)

AluxisMan introduces: The new old school!

The old school man, where has he vanished off to? Remember the man of yester year? Handsome, hardworking and mannered. There really was nothing like it, and the sad thing is that I wasn't even there, but stories from the older generation, movies and icons such as Cary Grant, James Dean and Sean Connery, just to name a few, kinda set the tone for the old school man.

I mean we have Cary Grant, the ultimate leading man of his time. He was manly, mannered and dapper. He had a presnce of note and in his movies woman around the globe wondered if men like him were just in the movies or did they exist in real life? He was a well dressed man who knew how to hang a suite, and even more importantly he was well groomed! And I'll tell you this for free fellas, there is nothing like a well groomed man! And now,in the year of 2010 and before, we have men taking it to the extreme (for me) and getting facials, mannies, peddies and so on. No!!!!!!!!! Your a man, I mean really, a nail clipper will suffice! Then we have James Dean, our rebel without a cause! I mean his style will live on forever. It was an edgey-cool rock and roll style that was weirdly clean and smart looking. There was the the denim jean, white tee, with a jacket, and the hair was combed back or to the side, with a jar of mousse or hair jel to help keep it in place, and give it a sleek finish. I believe he pionnered the whole casual, rock 'n roll look as well as the popular 5 o'clock shave. A man's man with an edge is how I will remember James Dean.

The next icon is just the pimp of pimps, I mean with the title of James Bond, how could he be left out this category of male icons. Not only did Mr. Connery look ultra smooth and handsome, but he had that deep Scottish accent which drove woman wild!

Cary Grant

James Deam

Sean Connery

All these men kinda had the complete package, and if not there was just that one thing that was enough to send people ravin mad about them. They had style, manners and umph, and also knew how to carry themselves. This brought me to the conclusion that there must be the new old school of men that are either already here or making a comeback. I look at Donald Drapper(John Ham from Mad Men), Scott Disick and the one whose just kills em all, Mr. Chuck Bass(Ed Westwick from gossip girl)!!!!

I think that these men are the freaking cream of the new old school. But if we're being honest, Scott is the real new old school, because that is his style unlike John and Ed who are only playing those characters. Scott is just on point! From his hair, to his gear and his manners(sometimes). He needs to endorse Hermes, Zegna, Gucci or whoever, but he is it! He is the solution to the male fashion crisis! Whoop whoop Scott, at least you don't suck at something!

My oh my!!!!!

Simon Spurr is most def one of the most amazing male designers I have ever set my 21 year old eyes on!!! Sleek, clean, strong and classic are the words that I think would be synonomous with Simon Spurr's fall 2010/11 winter collection. Before this outstanding performance, I had never even heard of Mr. Spurr, but now I know that he is a New York designer who has worked for YSL and Ralf Lauren. I mean where do I start? I don't actually know and don't care!! This man is brilliant!!! The colour scheme of the collection is on piont! I mean, from the pale pinks to the grey grey's, leather jackets and fitted panted, everything has been accounted for. The inspiration of this look is partly "swinging London", and that is so evident. I mean I though he(Simon Spurr) was an English boy really, only to be shocked and amazed that this talented man is an American boy, creating stunning pieces like this! I see the London look completely here, in fact it looks so Europen. I feel like if Chuck Bass wasn't in a suit or even if he was he would be dressed in a Simon Spurr number. Perfection is truely personified here. I couldn't have come up with a better collection myself!! F Simon Spurr, F for Fabulous!!!!

Can you believe this was craeted by an American designer right now?!

Brilliant American designer Simon Spurr.

The Brits know their Sh*t!

So I went onto my favourite website for men (gqstyle.com) and looked at couple of collections. I looked at the Dunhill and Pringle of Scotland fall 2010/11 collections. I absolutely loved the Dunhill collection!!! I Can't stress what an amazing job Kim Jones (Creative director/designer) is doing there. It was my favourite lookl; old school with a hint of newness and strength. I can't help but think of my math lecturer who stresses that the best dressed men are London men, I concur completely! The look is clean, chic and confident. When viewing this brilliant collection two things come to mind. Donald Draper (John Ham) in Mad Men and the it boy from gossip girl Ed Westwick aka Chuck Bass. Handsome, smooth, sexy, yet incredibly professional. It's a strong, sophisticated line, that truely separates the men from the boys. I hope Mr. Jones keeps it up!

The next one is Pringle of Scotland. I'm going to try my best to be open minded and fair when giving my opinion about this collection. All in all I thought is was nice and clean. They stuck to being smart and polished and added a bit of a kick to a couple of the pieces. But I also felt like there was too much fabric on some of the garments here and there. There was one look in particular that really gripped me. It was a complete AluxisMan look, it was all black, sleek, sexy man at his most stylish, but at his most simpliest. It looks effoertless, yet not too much like you would find someone else wearing it that way. The rest of the collection was lovely. Proper everyday wear that I would love my man to wear(if I had one)! The Brits really know thier men, climate and culture. These two collections are a testiment to that. I'll be back with more reviews and views, peace!

AluxisMan song of the month!

I know that there is a song of the month in the other Aluxism blog, but that is more female driven and I feel as though there are songs that hit men a little harder then woman. For instance, Rap and Hip hop, I believe are 2 very male dominated genres, yes we woman love rap and listen to it, but do we feel it with intensity of a man? Some of us do, but very few. The song I picked for this month is "Do you think about me" by 50 cent. I am completely in love with the beat, I feel that it's deep, but very soft and mellow. Your not going to break a sweat trying to dance to it. I love the message in the song, because 50 cent used hi ex-girlfriend Vivica A. Fox to star in it, and the lyric's kinda make you think that maybe something is still going on there. Is 50 thinking about Vivica or vice versa. It's also a hot song because 50 cent is know as this really hard guy who got shot ninetimes, but here there is a sensitivity showing, I might even say a caring side to this ultra tough rapper.

AluxisMan "The new new"!

So whoever knows me knows that I love menswear and feel that my South African men are very far behind in terms of being fashion forward. It's not you fault, it's just the buyers who don't stock stores with proper gear for our men. But at the some time, can my South African brothers be open to know things and stop being so frigid when it comes to fashion. This blog is dedicated to men's fashion, cars, events and random news. My first post is just introducing you to some amazing fashion that came out of Milan fashion week. I love a well dressed, well groomed man, who doesn't. My father and Tom Ford inspired the movement. I love a crisp, clean, elegant look that exude confidence and professionalism as well as a man looking like a man. I will touch on other types of styles and explore how they can be interconnect into each other and more. Here a three different collections from three different designers who I feel did a brilliant job at fashion week. I will probably post more, but these are also my favourite ones. Peace!
